Zak + Young Zak the Gamer 18 March (pm) 2020 Medway

At this half day’s training session you will thoroughly explore all aspects of ‘Zak’ and ‘Gamer Zak’, looking at ways to highlight and manage issues raised. A comprehensive training pack (based on research and expert consultation) containing discussion points, guidance and references is included. 12 months free access to the resources will be awarded once training is successfully completed. ‘Zak’ Increase the awareness of young people around the process of grooming/radicalisation of individuals. Enable young people to identify and discuss factors/indicators of grooming/radicalisation in their peers. Encourage self-reflection on their own behaviour. Facilitate understanding regarding where and to whom young people should report their concerns. Identify some of the procedures in place to support individuals in a safe pre-criminal space. ‘Gamer Zak’ To increase young people’s awareness of grooming for radicalisation To reinforce messages of good online safety To develop critical thinking in young people, equipping them with tools to keep themselves safe. To generate discussion around Radicalisation, Grooming and British Values. To generate understanding of how to raise concerns Tea/coffee will be available on arrival.  Lunch is not provided, but there are a variety of cafes, shops and restaurants very nearby for you to visit after the session. Background A simulation for young people in schools focusing on online grooming and the radicalisation process. ‘Zak’ has been used in many Kent schools since September 2013. ‘Gamer Zak’ is a new resource aimed at younger students and is a series of vlogs. Unless formally agreed by the University of Kent, licences may not be used to generate income, licence holders may not be commissioned to deliver training and are not permitted to share enrolment details with others. Licences are for use within schools/organisations or for own CPD. Cancellation a.    The University reserves the right to cancel the Training up to 10 days before the Commencement Date. In the event of such a cancellation the University shall endeavour to contact you by email to inform you of the cancellation. The Client is responsible for checking details for any cancellation before travelling. The University is not responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred as a result of the cancellation.  b.   The Client may cancel this Contract at any time by sending notice of its cancellation in writing to the University Key Contact (Commercial).
