The Young Journey Media Arts and Sport Entrepreneur program trains young entrepreneurs by developing necessary knowledge and skills for success in the global market. This community initiative is an educational program with events that gives young minds an opportunity to create ANY idea and develop ANY product/service for the global market, with financial literacy and entrepreneurship education; as well prepare excellent student artists and athletes for professional industries. Participants have the opportunity to shadow professionals live during professional basketball games, chances to win prizes, scholarships and other great experiences inclusive of Young Journey events. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE USING THIS LINK? Participants in low-middle income households: Must be between the age of 12 -18 and must live in the Austin, TX Metro Area. (PLEASE VISIT IF YOU LIVE IN A DIFFERENT AREA) Must have parent’s permission to participate, providing parent’s name, email and phone number. Must have sufficient internet access with a regularly checked email account. Must have a commitment to personal development of at least 2 hours each week to complete each level. WHEN, WHERE & HOW? Free registration is open from July 22, 2019 through September 1, 2019. The program officially runs from September 22 through April 30, 2020. (Minor changes in dates may happen). Participants/Parents will be notified of event dates and other important dates. Digital classes will be held, with a curriculum that has easy non-graded tasks, challenges and assignments. Participants will also receive “how to” video tutorials and inspiring messages from sports players, entertainers and sports professionals. The program includes an NBA & NBA G League ticket fundraiser initiative, chances to win prizes, scholarships and exciting opportunities.  AN ***** PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST REGISTER EACH CHILD. THE PARENT/GUARDIAN SHOULD ENTER THEIR NAME, EMAIL AND INFORMATION FIRST. THEN COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION, ENTERING THEIR CHILD’S INFORMATION AS PROMPTED. PLEASE BE SURE TO ENTER THE FREQUENTLY CHECKED EMAIL THAT WILL RECEIVE THE DIGITAL CLASSWORK. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Participants may be filmed and/or photographed, or may submit picture or videos for contests, promotions, etc.By registering your child for this program and events, you give your child permission to participate in the program and events, give consent for your child to be filmed, photographed, voice recorded or videotaped for non-profit use (e.g. educational, public service, or promotional purposes).You hereby consent to the participation in interviews, the use of quotes, and the taking of photographs, movies or video filming of your child named as the ticket holder, by The Young Journey Foundation (Young Journey) and its partners. You also grant to The Young Journey Foundation and its partners the right to edit, use, and reuse said products for non-profit purposes including use in print, on the internet, and all other forms of media worldwide. You also hereby release The Young Journey Foundation (Young Journey), its agents, executives, partners, sponsors, contractors, employees and volunteers from all claims, demands, and liabilities whatsoever in connection with the above. NOTE: Youth groups may sign up and use the curriculum at no cost. Parents/Guardians must give each youth permission by individually registering each child.
