ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP This workshop is delivered by one of Wakefield Council’s Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Trainers who works with children and young people with Learning Disabilities. It gives an opportunity to think about what contributes to a child / young person’s challenging behaviour, what influences our responses and what we can do to respond differently. WHO SHOULD ATTEND Parents / carers of children and young people 0-18 years with any Special Educational Needs and / or Disability, with challenging behaviours. Please note the workshop is only available to people who pay council tax to Wakefield Council (or the child that they care for must live in the Wakefield Council district). FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS WORKSHOPS “Delivered perfectly. Really hit home and gave me different / new avenues and approach methods. Excellent.” “All the info makes you understand more and man who did it was brilliant putting it across.” FAQs Can I bring my child or their sibling? Unfortunately only people over the age of 18 years can attend the workshop as we have no childcare facilities or insurance cover for children under 18. Can I have more than 1 place? Yes – other family members such as Partners, Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, siblings over the age of 18 years and family friends that care for the child are able to attend the workshop. A separate booking is required for each person attending. I am a professional – can I attend? The Eventbrite booking system is only for parent / carers – please do not use this Eventbrite booking system if you are a professional. Please contact Barnardo’s WESAIL on 01924 304152 to discuss your requirements. What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? Fitzwilliam train station is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the centre. Hemsworth Bus Station is just under 2 miles away and buses from there that pass the venue leave approximately every 15 minutes. Free car parking is available at the rear and on the road at the side of the building. Do I need to bring anything to the event? No – you do not need your booking confirmation as your name will be listed on the signing in sheet. Pens and paper are provided, along with refreshments (tea, coffee, water, juice and biscuits).
