The YMCA CRS Foster Child Care Bridge Program is providing a series of learning opportunities to assist providers in fostering a greater understanding of trauma-informed care and child traumatic stress. The principles of a trauma-informed approach and trauma-specific interventions are designed to address the consequences of trauma in the child, learn how to develop caring relationships with young children with histories of trauma and facilitate healing and resiliency. Session 3: Responsive Relationships from a Trauma-Informed Approach Most children whom have experienced disruptions in attachment due to early trauma see life and relationships different than in traditional parenting homes. Participants will gain an understanding on how to alter their caregiving techniques in order to connect and better relate to their children. Learn several trauma-informed strategies and practices that nurture children’s healing and resiliency. This training supports the practical application of tools and resources supporting the child’s and the caregivers well-being.
