The Portraits' Homecoming Concert

To launch their much anticipated new album ‘For Our Times’, husband and wife Acoustic duo Jeremy and Lorraine Millington, a.k.a. The Portraits are playing an intimate and exclusive set with extremely limited places. The night will be compered by good friend and long time supporter of the duo, Radio 2’s Justine Greene, and uniquely, all paid tickets will include a CD copy of the album. Their performance will include songs from their hotly tipped new record and selected works from their fourteen years as The Portraits. New songs by the Somerset duo will include the crowd-sourced March 2019 single ‘Harmonise’ which makes it onto the duo’s new long player. The song was built around video selfies of dozens of members of the public calling for unity during these troubled times by singing the word ‘harmonise’ into their phones, and was described by Tom Robinson on his BBC 6 Music show as «Irresistible and Irrepressible!». The Portraits, who have performed at six Glastonbury Festivals and been championed in the past on Clare Balding’s and Jeremy Vine’s BBC Radio 2 shows, with Clare describing the duo as “So Beautiful, So Powerful”, have honed their storytelling song style over their years working together, producing today a worldly and intoxicating mix of Anglo-Irish harmonies and upbeat catchy tunes, their songs linked together by a recurring theme of unity and peace. Places at this event are free, but tickets are required nonetheless, and a collection will be made on the night to raise funds for the Blue School PTA who help to fund essential projects at Wells’ main secondary school.
