The Collections Team 2019 Conference

The Library Collections Team Conference – featuring sessions from the ER&L CONFERENCE/ 2019 The Curtin Library Collections Team is inviting you to the first Collections themed shadow conference for a time of fun and reflection.  Based on the 14th Annual Electronic Resources & Libraries 2019 Online Conference held in Austin, Texas, we will be enjoying on-demand videos of general interest in the area of “Collections” to spark discussion and stimulate forward thinking about collections, resources and teamwork.  Conference details: DATE: 24 June 2019 TIME: 9:30 – 4:00 pm WHERE: Building 105; Room 107 Proposed program: 9.30 – 10.30 am                   How an Australian university created two new roles that are working together to analyse library collections and the user experience to improve both. Presented by Tony Davies, Michelle Morgan and Daniel Howells (45 min presentation and 15 min group discussion)  10.30 – 10.45 am Morning Tea  10.45 – 11.45 am                 Off the Shelf! Presented by Harold Colson (15 min presentation)  12.00 – 12.30 pm Lunch  12.30 – 1.30 pm                   The good, the free, and the well designed: Empowering faculty to use OERs across campus. Presented by Melissa Gustafson (45 min presentation and group discussion)  1.30 – 2.30 pm                     The Licensing Elephant in the Room: Resource Sharing for Streaming Video. Presented by Sommer Browning, Katy DiVittorio, Molly Rainard, Charissa Brammer and Philip Gaddis (45 min presentation and group discussion)  2.45 – 3.30pm                     Being an Effective Liaison as a Technical Services Librarian. Presented by Alice Eng and Elizabeth Lightfoot (45 min presentation)  All Collections Team members have been approved to take part in this conference. As per the “conference experience” we hope you can attend the entire day, but please feel free to partake in as much of the conference as your normal work pattern will allow.
