The aim of Practical Approaches to Symptom Relief in Palliative Care study day is to enable all staff to provide practical, non-pharmacological approaches to relieve symptoms in the last year of life. Learning Outcomes:To acquire non-pharmacological approaches to common symptoms in life limiting illness: Breathlessness Nausea and vomiting Constipation Pain Swallowing difficulties We will also cover a holistic approach to care of the dying person, considering their Psychological, Spiritual, Physical and Social needs. Attendees will also be familiar with a range of Complementary Therapies to relieve symptoms at end of life and we’ll a introduce basic hand massage technique. Entry requirements: There are no prerequisites for this course. This course is designed for the non-registered workforce. Time: Registration from 9.15 am.
