Somatic Yoga

This class is for anyone who wants to feel more comfortable in their body. You will learn how slow, gentle, repetitive movements executed with maximum awareness can improve freedom of movement, strength, and coordination. Somatic Yoga is a therapeutic practice based on the work of Thomas Hannah and other body specialists and anatomical experts. The approach is one that focuses on body mechanics and retraining the muscles to move in a more healthy and sustainable way. Posture is emphasized, awareness is necessary and patience and slow movement are part of the program. Careful attention is necessary in order to replace old unhealthy habits with movements that are more appropriate and healthy.
