Dear Friends and Community, The Loks Salon Family is calling on you for your support. Our cherished friend, Valerie Walker, is the brave woman at the center of our hope. She is a 38-year-old single mother of two young girls, Alex {age 6} and Brooklyn {age 9}. Valerie and her daughters currently reside in Uncasville, Connecticut. One year ago doctors unexpectedly discovered a tumor and, upon further evaluation, they diagnosed her with stage three pancreatic cancer. Since then, Valerie’s cancer has spread and further progressed into stage four cancer, devastating her and her family. Day in and day out, Valerie faces the outside world armed with strength, bravery and protection of her two daughters. Behind her beautiful smile, her internal battle is full of heartbreak, despair and a relentless struggle to live against all odds.
