Rosie Riveters Gum Springs Program (3rd-5th Grade Girls)

At Rosie Riveters we believe that doing is how you learn. When you let children solve problems on their own, they learn to be more independent. With the confidence to fail you arm yourself with the tools to win! Rosie Riveters is a non-profit organization that develops participants confidence, problem-solving and critical thinking skills through our hands-on and interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) projects.  The Rosie Riveters Gum Springs program is a two-part program (summer and school-year) specifically for those who are enrolled in Fairfax County NCS summer and afterschool programs.  During the course of this FREE program, participants will explore everything from hydraulics and circuits to polymers and biomechanics. In addition to an educational overview of a STEM concept, participants will engage in an interactive and hands-on building project that explores that concept.  Space is limited. Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity. Register Today! We ask that all participants who register commit to all 15 project dates.  2019 Summer Project Dates  Mondays from 10 am-12 pm  July 8, 2019  July 15, 2019 July 22, 2019 July 29, 2019 August 6, 2019 2019-2020 School-year Project Dates  September 2019-June 2020 every third Tuesday of the month from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm September 17, 2019  October 15, 2019 November 19, 2019 December 17, 2019 January 21, 2020 February 18, 2020 March 17, 2020 April 21, 2020 May 19, 2020 June 16, 2020
