Recycling 101

Metro area residents send tons of garbage to the landfill every day. This comes with a price tag. Knowing how to recycle right, and a few handy, free or low-cost waste reduction tips can save space in the garbage bins and save money. In this interactive presentation, we will discuss what goes in and what stays out of the recycling and why and discuss ways we can reduce the amount of waste we generate in our daily lives. About the instructor: Metro works with communities, businesses and residents in the Portland metropolitan area to chart a wise course for the future while protecting the things we love about this place. Metro serves more than 1.5 million people in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties. A house will likely be the single largest asset most people will purchase in their lifetime.
