NURTURING A GREEN SCHOOL – Growing a Green School Discuss…

Join the Portland Green Schools Committee for the second panel of our 2019 discussion series: GROWING A GREEN SCHOOL. Nurturing a Green School: Operating, Maintaining and Ensuring Green School Goals are Achieved   Successfully achieving the green schools outcome can often be intimidating for the design team, the occupants and especially the operators. To ultimately achieve the design team goals, the facility managers must make buildings and systems run in real time, with all the nuances and variables that were only modeling assumptions for the design team. This can difficult when operators and occupants are not engaged by the design team and **** very real time and resource constraints. Despite these challenges, high performance schools are achievable and popping up all around the State of Oregon! Ensuring the desired outcome takes the commitment of wide variety of stakeholders, including the occupants and the operators, to ensure these buildings work. Panelists will discuss the lessons learned and replicable approaches to operating and maintaining green schools to the highest level of ongoing school performance. Join the Portland Green Schools committee for the third panel discussion in the 2019 panel series “Growing a Green School”.
