You are invited to MEET THE ENTREPRENEURQueensland Chief Entrepreneur, Leanne Kemp Tuesday 27 August 2019, 4.30pm to 6.30pmUniversity of the Sunshine Coast, Gympie Campus, 71 Cartwright Road, GympieFree.  Meet Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, Leanne Kemp.The Office of the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur is the first of its kind in Australia and aims to support local entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses across the state by connecting them with the right opportunities, people, places and spaces to help them grow, scale and create jobs. Hear from local entrepreneurs and support them as they make a pitch for investment in their ventures. Leanne Kemp is Queensland’s third Chief Entrepreneur, following on from Steve Baxter and inaugural Chief, Mark Sowerby.  Leanne Kemp is the Founder and CEO of Everledger and is recognised internationally as an innovator and leader in emerging technologies, business, jewellery and insurance. Her company Everledger is a leading emerging technology enterprise that tracks the provenance of high-value assets on a global digital ledger in an authenticated immutable manner. Leanne is an appointed member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Blockchain Business Council and Co-Chair of the WEF Advance Manufacturing and Sustainable Production Working Group; the Circular Economy Working Group; and the Global Battery Alliance Working Group. She is also on the IBM Blockchain Platform Board of Advisors and has received numerous awards in Australia and internationally including Innovator of the Year 2016 and 2018 at the Women in IT Awards (London) and Advance Global Australian Awards 2018 for Technology Innovation. Drawing on her extensive experience as a successful entrepreneur, Leanne was appointed Queensland Chief Entrepreneur in 2018, a role in which Leanne works on a global scale to support and develop Queensland’s startup ecosystem, attract investment and support job creation. Leanne is also sits on the Queensland Government Better Regulation Taskforce to provide advice to government on improving regulation to support small business, to create a strong, profitable and globally competitive business environment. Leanne is passionate about the future of innovation and entrepreneurship as it applies to environment and sustainability.
