This workshop, developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency and the UCLan and Ri YSC in Preston, is a great introduction to programming. After learning to program a LEGO Mindstorms Mars rover, they are challenged to direct their rover across a Martian landscape and recognise a specific site using a colour sensor. In the afternoon, students will have the opportunity to try out different sensors to complete challenges. This workshops will cover the basics of Lego Mindstorms and so is not recommended for students with an intermediate or advanced knowledge’ on this platform or similar. Please note: This workshop is strictly for 10–12 year-olds only. This workshop will include a 30 minute supervised lunch break. Discounted tickets are available to Ri Members. Find out more about how to join. Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (fourteen calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
