As we enter the longest night of the year we come together in movement and dance at the winter solstice, stoking our inner fire and nurturing the light within, in readiness for the darker months ahead. This is the first in a series of monthly dance events in Bath for adults and teenagers. Our aim is to build community, to give space to the experience of letting our bodies be moved by music, and to cultivate wellbeing through connection to ourselves and each other.“Dancing is surely the most basic and relevant of all forms of expression. Nothing else can so effectively give outward form to an inner experience“ Lyall Watson The dance is curated and facilitated by Sophie Bolton () who has over 20 years experience in the embodiement practises of yoga and dance meditation. Sophie is an amazing DJ and dance facilitator and calls you to embark on your own inner journey on the dance and to discover the different expressions of who you are.”Sophie Bolton glides through the most exquisite unfolding journey into sound, feeling and understanding genres as she makes light of music categorisation.” Pete Lawrence – Big Chill FounderCharlotte Swadling and Jamie Colston are your hosts. Having enjoyed dancing in Frome at The Everything is Connected community dance, they felt it was time that Bath had its own space for bringing people together in a similar fashion. As parents with teenagers and soon to be teens, it felt important that young people, if they feel called to come, are welcomed too. Dancing softly, wildly or anywhere in between is a great way to release and can be a lot of fun. We welcome you to the first dance of our year long exploration into building community and dancing together.”Dance as though no one is watching, Love as though you’ve never been hurt, Sing as though no one can hear you, Live as though heaven is on Earth” We dance from 4-6pm, doors open at 3.45pm and we shut them at 6pm there will be time for conversation, tea and cake for all. As it’s our first dance and the solstice, we will also bring food to share for an evening feast. You are welcome to join us.
