Leadership in Safeguarding Saturday 9 November 2019, 1.30pm – 5.30pm at Holy Trinity, Eltham Required for anyone who has safeguarding leadership responsibilities or responsibility for leading activities involving children, young people and/or adults who may be vulnerable. Including but not limited to: Safeguarding officers, safeguarding lead on PCC, church wardens, youth and children’s pastors, Bishops visitors, Directors of Music, Bell Tower Captains, Home Visitors, Ordinands prior to leaving TEI, Safeguarding leads in religious communities, Choir leaders. Learning objectives: Be able to list key partners and know how to contact those relevant to your current work Be aware of safeguarding processes for responding to serious safeguarding situations Be aware of how to record and store safeguarding information Be able to explain the importance of safely identifying and recruiting staff and volunteers in developing a culture of safeguarding Be able to recognise the relevant legislation and guidance associated with safer recruitment Be able to identify safer recruitment practices Understand how to complete an annual audit and review of safer working practices Please note: if you need to cancel your attendance please do inform us with as much notice as possible so the place can be offered to someone else.
