International NodeBots Day 2020

It’s July again and time for making JavaScript-controlled robots. It’s our 5th annual International NodeBotsDay! The focus of NodeBots Day is on sharing and enjoying each other’s company. And JavaScript. Lots of JavaScript. This event is friendly for all ages and experience levels. There will be kits to use during the day for building Sumobots or you’re welcome to bring your own parts to make a NodeBot of your choosing. This year, we’ll be including NodeBoats again! Schedule: 10am-12pm: Intro Instructions Sumobot robot build / SoccerBots / NodeBoats 12pm – Pizza lunch + Kids-Only Exhibition Match 1pm – 3pm – Advanced hack, upgrade, build + more Soccerbot matches 3pm – Snacks and Adults Robot Battle! FAQs How much does the event cost? It’s completely free! We only ask that you RSVP via this event so that we can get accurate numbers for supplies and food/beverage costs. Where is the event? Old Dominion University Webb Center Building (Map) Center/North Cafeteria + Hampton/Newport News Rooms (Look for the signs!) Will there be food? We will be providing drinks all day, a pizza lunch, and afternoon snacks. Webb Center dining services are closed on Saturday in the summer. There are snack and drink machines are available throughout Webb Center and many places to eat on Monarch Way (Raising Canes, Borjo, Handsome Biscuit, Jimmy Johns, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe) just a short walk across Hampton Blvd next behind the Ted. What are the minimum age requirements for the event? This event is open to all ages for learning, spectating, and having a lot of fun! For robot building and joining the kids battle, we recommend kids ages 7+. What are my parking options at the event? You may park for free in the garage (E) marked on ODU’s Parking Map. It is located at the corner of Bluestone and 49th street. Note: Do not park in a spot marked «reserved.» How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
