First Aid at Work, AED & Anaphylaxis managment and Basic Life Support (2 day Renewal) This comprehensive 2-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. The two day course is for those that hold a current and valid FAW certificate. All successful students will be issued with a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work qualification lasting for a period of three years. It is a requirement of Health & Safety law that employers should provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees. This course will give participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is advised that first aiders are provided even when the chart may not indicate they are required to ensure that all eventualities are accounted for. Candidates must be at least 16 years of age. Training and assessment for the FAW is in two units and both must be successfully passed to attain the qualification. The course will include continual assessment of understanding of the syllabus and practical skills. Assessment will be in the forms of observation of skills and questioning of knowledge through multiple choice questions. Candidates must demonstrate competence in all aspects of the syllabus to pass the qualification. The First Aid at Work course is a minimum of 18 hours and attendance at all sessions is compulsory.
