Info: We are pleased to invite you to attend an assessment event in relation to your application for a part time ***** English and/or maths course at Suffolk New College. The assessment is a mandatory step in the application process for this provision, and supports staff and future students to enrol onto the most appropriate level course and maximise success. Frequently asked Questions We understand that taking that first step into the next chapter of your life or re-training to change your career can be quite daunting, to help you take this important step we have put together the top frequently asked questions about our taster events so you know what to expect before you arrive! What time shall I arrive? The event runs from 5:30pm. Although we will still welcome those who arrive later than this, it is preferred that you arrive at 5:30pm so as not to disrupt other applicants sitting the assessment. Where can I park? The College car parks are free on a first come, first served basis during College events, however you will need to sing in at Main Reception with your car regisration number to exempt you from the fee. You are welcome to park in either Rope Walk (postcode for Sat Nav is IP4 2LB) or Grimwade Street (postcode for Sat Nav is IP4 1LP) when visiting us. Please note that the Grimwade Street car park is shared with Goals so will fill up quickly – There will be more spaces available at our Rope Walk car park. When you arrive please head to the main college reception where you will be greeted by our staff and directed to the appropriate room How long does the test take? We allow 40 minutes for the English paper and 50 minutes for the maths paper. Can I do both an English and a maths assessment in one event? The event is held for 1 hour 30 minutes. There would be time for applicants to sit both tests at one event if oreferred, however it is recommended that it be split into two sessions in order to use the full allotted time for your paper. How do I find out my results after the assessment? You will be emailed within 5 working days of your paper to confirm the level that we recommend you study.
