This 1-day, hands-on, instructor-led course will be held in our technology center in Portland, Oregon. It is designed for technology professionals who are working in IT (as an administrator, software developer, or manager), or any other interested individual who would like to learn about the core cloud services provided by AWS (Amazon Web Services). You will learn how to implement AWS storage and database services, optimize compute and network services, use AWS management tools, and secure an AWS deployment. Course Prerequisites: Basic end-user skills with software such as Microsoft Office or Google Apps, familiarity with networking concepts (such as server, database, storage, IP subnet, load balancing, authentication, authorization) and some experience as an IT practitioner, manager, or leader. Computers are provided in the classroom as well as participant course manuals. When should I arrvive, what can I expect the day of class, are there refreshments? Please arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to class to check in and get situated in your classroom. Starbucks coffee, tea, juice and sodas will be available throughout the day. Snacks will be provided before class and at breaks. Restaurant maps are available to help you plan your lunch break. If you prefer to bring your lunch, a refrigerator is available as well as a place to eat and relax. Dress is casual and comfortable to allow for the optimum learning environment.
