Applied ******* Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in ******* first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of ******* and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Over the course of your two-day workshop, ASIST participants learn to: Understand the ways that personal and societal attitudes affect views on ******* and interventions Provide guidance and ******* first aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their individual safety needs Identify the key elements of an effective ******* safety plan and the actions required to implement it Appreciate the value of improving and integrating ******* prevention resources in the community at large Recognize other important aspects of ******* prevention including life-promotion and self-care Some of the learning will take place in the whole group of participants and some in smaller workgroups. You will learn and practice a model of ******* intervention. Your workshop trainers will be available to offer support and will work hard to create a learning atmosphere where participants can also encourage and support each other and have some fun. For more information about the course click here. Eligibility for a funded training place This training has been funded by Public Health at Brighton & Hove City Council. To be eligible for a funded place you need to be working in the Brighton & Hove area with people in vulnerable or high risk groups. As a guide, training places are initially limited to 3 places per course, per organisation. However, for larger organisations further places may be available.
